It was not so long ago...
That I saw darkness down below
Voices I heard, loud and low
Reminding me of how much I owe..

Dear God, this troubled guest
Seeks your heavenly rest..
As passions of this earth..
die swiftly upon their birth..

Has this humble servant thanked you yet?
For a sacred flame that forever burns..
From heaven it came... to heaven it returns

My tongue like a pleasant rhyme
Tells the story of an innocent crime
"Confess, Heart of Mine"!!

Two hearts battle the winds of time....
One, fearful, hesitant,
Eager to avenge his cruel fate...
The other, stubbornly claims
That Love's fingers chain...
And an eagle is safer soaring..
Than a bird in a golden cage...

But God, in his wisdom knew
These lonely hearts of two...
And watched ever so closely
As the altar-flame quickly grew..
Yes, indeed..There is much that I owe
And not enough time to say all I know
But perhaps, a thank you with every breath
For every moment , until my death.
